gozar como niño/ to enjoy like a child

Hace rato hay mucho ruido en las páginas de diseño, familiares y de entretención con las aplicaciones para iPad. Francamente me parecían chiches para un aparato cuya única nueva función era poder leer el diario sin tener necesidad de usar anteojos. Pero estas tres me conquistaron, especialmente la última (porfa sigan leyendo todo el post). Si tienen iPad, bájenlas. Si no, pidan uno prestado y bájenlas!

It has been a while since design, family and entertaining sites are buzzing about iPad apps. Honestly I thought they were nonsenses for a device that was meant to read the newspaper without readers on. But this three bought me, specially the last one (you should read the whole post). If you own an iPad, download them. If you don't, borrow one and download them!

1.- Timbuktu, free app:

Es una revista para niños, que actualizará distintos números en el tiempo, con ilustraciones llamativas, llenas de color. Las páginas se desplazan para todos lados, tiene audio y películas divertidas, les enseña datos nuevos y curiosos, pasando por distintos temas. Nos entretuvimos mucho, mucho rato y no hemos visto todo todavía.

It's a kids magazine, that will get new issues in the future, with appealing illustrations, full of colour. Pages move all around, with hidden facts, audio clips, fun videos, teaching new and interesting facts, from a number of different topics. We had a lot of fun, for a long time, and we haven't seen all yet.

2.- Plic, Ploc, Wiz, free app:

Es una aplicación para hacer dibujos con formas. Así de simple. No trae ninguna instrucción es totalmente intuitiva, pero es imposible que no salga algo lindo de ahí. Los niños saben usarla solos, mejor que uno. Las ilustraciones que hagamos las podemos guardar como fotos o mandar por mail.

It's a drawing app, but just with shapes. As simple as that. Not instructions needed, pure intuition, yet it's impossible that you don't make something cute. Kids know how to use it better than us. The illustrations that we make can be saved as photos or sent by email.

3.-The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore

u$4,99 (es una ganga/it's a bargain)

No sé cómo llamar a esta aplicación. Fue desarrollada por William Joyce, que por muchos años fue parte del equipo de Pixar. Fue presentado en formato de cortometraje en varios festivales del mundo, ganando premios en San José, Cleveland y Florida, entre otros. En el iPad es un libro/película que se va narrando a sí mismo, mientras uno lo anima con los dedos según él mismo te va indicando. Tiene montones de juegos adentro, además. Todos lo mirábamos con la boca abierta y sonriente al mismo tiempo, si es posible.... INCREIBLE. No se lo pierdan. Creo que hacia acá van los libros en el futuro cercano.

I don't know where to put this app. It was developed by William Joyce, who was for may years a member of the Pixar team. It was shown as a short film in many festivals around the world, and won several awards, including, first in San José, Cleveland and Florida. As an iPad app, it's a book/movie that narrates itself, while you animate it with your fingers, following the suggestions that it makes. Besides, it has many games inside too. We all stared with a smile and mouth wide open, if it's possible......INCREDIBLE. Don't you miss it. I thik this is where books are going in the near future.
