Caperucita Roja: la original / Little Red Riding Hood: the real

En nuestra casa vive la Caperucita Roja original, la capa se la hice yo y se pasa arrancando del lobo. Usé una lanilla roja que encontré rebajada, pero puede ser con cualquier género. Es tan linda que la usan en verdad como abrigo de vez en cuando y ha sido un éxito como disfraz. Más abajo encontrarán cómo hacerla.

At our home lives the real Little Red Riding Hood, I made the cape and hood myself and she takes care about running away from the wolf. I used red wool fabric that I found as a bargain, but you could use any fabric. It's so cute that the girls actually use it as outerwear every once in a while and it has been a hit as costume. Caperucita Roja / Little Red Riding Hood

1 Elige el sweater preferido de tu hija y copia su forma de hombros y brazos en un diario para hacer el molde / Choose your girl favorite sweater and copy it's shape from shoulders and arms to a newspaper to

make the pattern.

2 Copia el molde dos veces sobre el género rojo, dejando dos centímetros extras para las costuras y haciéndolo del largo que quieras. Hay que cortar una de las dos piezas que hicimos por la mitad de arriba hacia abajo, para hacer el frente. / Copy the pattern twice over red fabric, leaving one extra inch to sew and using your desired length. You should cut one of the pieces you made in the middle, from top to bottom, to make the front pieces.

3 Piezas extras / extra pieces: a partir del mismo molde cortamos dos veces más la parte de los hombros, con un altura de 15 cms/6inch y cortamos también una de esas piezas por la mitad para que vaya al frente. Necesitamos también dos cintas de 50 cms/20inch y una pieza de género de 25cms/10 inch x 60 cms/24inch para el gorro. / From the same pattern we cut twice again the showlder portion, with a 15 cms/6inch hight and we also cut one of those pieces in half to suite the front. We would need two 50 cms/20inch long ribbon and a rectangular piece of fabric of 25 cms/10 inch x 60 cms/24inch size for the hood.

4 Goro y armar / hood and put things together: Hilvanamos el tercio central del rectángulo de género por el borde, tiramos el hilo para recogerlo y lo anudamos, tenemos que coser por ese mismo lado el gorro. Tenemos que unir las tres piezas de la capa, luego las tres piezas que cubren los hombros, para después juntar esas dos cosas y el gorro en el cuello. El gorro va a ser un poco más ancho que el cuello, así que hay que hacerle pequeñas pinzas antes de coserlo. Pongamos después las cintas para poder amarrarla. / We baste the central third of our rectangular piece at one edge and pull the thread to gather the fabric, then make a knot, we should sew that side of the hood. Then sew together the three pieces of the cape and on the side the three pieces to cover the shoulders. When that is done put everything together by the neck. The hood should be bigger, so make little pleats before sewing. After it is ready add the ribbons where you want to tie it. LISTO! READY! :^)
