Ya les conté que este año tuve regalos increíbles, uno de ellos fue esta olla preciosa! <3 Su diseño es tan simple y a la vez tan lleno de historia. Me imagino esas fogatas con ollas colgando encima, brujas haciendo pócimas, guisos espesos.....y también me imagino todas las cosas ricas que voy a hacer adentro y todos los años que nos va a acompañar, a mi, a mis hijos y nietos. Ellos van a comentar: se acuerdan de la olla preciosa de la abuelita?! Jaja!

   Fue diseñada en 1960 por Timo Sarpaneva y actualmente es producida por la firma finesa Iittala. Es de fierro fundido, eso impide que se queme la comida en contacto directo con el fuego y además conserva el calor por más tiempo una vez apagado el fuego. Otra de las cosas que completa su categoría de perfecta es el esmaltado blanco interior. Las ollas esmaltadas impiden que se peguen las cosas, incluso si se queman, y además no queda con ningún tipo de olor, así que es un caballo que sirve para muchas batallas. La manilla de madera es removible y sirve también para tomar la tapa. Un día de éstos vamos a hacer algo rico en ella y lo vamos a fotografiar para ustedes. No es preciosa?

   I told you I had some incredible gifts for my birthday this year, one of them was this gorgeous pot!<3 It's design is so simple, yet full of history. I can imagine those fires with pots hanging over them, witches making potions, thick stews.... and I can imagine too all the delicious things I'm going to make in it and all the years that it is going to live among us, serving me, my kids and my grandkids. They will comment: do you remember that awesome pot grandma had?! Haha!

   It was designed by Timo Sarpaneva in 1960 and it is produced now by finnish firm Iittala. It is made of  cast iron, which keeps meal hotter after you turn off the stove and doesn't allow things in the bottom to stick to the pot. Other feature that makes it near to perfection is white enameled interior. Enameled pans or pots are non stick, even if things bur inside, and don't keep smells, so it will fight many battles with you. Wooden handle is detachable and serves to lift the lid open. One of this days we are making something nice in it and will take some pictures for you. Isn't it gorgeous?
