últimos días de calor intenso / last days of intense heat

Hoy si pongo un huevo en el techo de la casa apuesto que se fríe. Ya son los últimos días de verano, había que inventar algo rico para pasar el calor, así que hicimos algo especial para tener en el refrigerador y matar la sed: un mojito a prueba de niños, sin el "mo", así que se llama un "Hijito", ja! Hijito

3 ramas de menta / branches of mint
1 limón sutil o pica / lime
1/2 taza de goma / cup of sugar syrup o 4 cucharadas de azúcar / tablespoons of sugar
1 litro de agua /35oz water
hielo / ice

1.- sacamos de la rama las hojas de menta lavadas y las machacamos suave en un mortero, luego las echamos dentro del agua. / we take off the branch our washed mint leaves and crush them gently in a mortar, then we add them to the water.

2.- cortamos el limón en dados y lo machacamos también. Si vamos a usar azúcar, la añadimos ahora para que se disuelva. / we cut the lime in dices and crush them gently too. If we are using sugar, we add it now so it melts with the juice.
