Hoy tengo dos temas que tratar. El primero es que no sé por qué no tengo la habilidad de usar medias sin romperlas. Me trato de hacer la elegante cuando hay algún evento o cuando uso vestidos en invierno y no hay caso: duran menos de un día. Puede ser algo con las tallas, pero lo más seguro es que sea yo el problema. Así que tengo algunas medias que no se pueden usar en el cajón, de ahí nace el proyecto de hoy, un bastidor para estampar géneros y papel. Con una media vieja, plumón, pegamento y pintura podemos repetir un diseño y transformar algo sin gracia en algo especial. Aunque elegí esta vez una flecha, es una súper buena idea para poner iniciales en unas servilletas y un mantel de regalo de matrimonio, o no?

   Today I have two issues to talk about. The first is that I do not know why I don't have the ability to wear tights without tearing them. I try to look elegant when there is an event or when I use dresses in winter but there is no hope: they last less than a day. It may be something with the sizes, but it is more likely that the problem is me. So I have some stockings that can't be used in the drawer, hence there is where todays project is born, a frame for stamping paper and fabric. With an old nylon tight, a sharpie, glue and paint we can repeat a design and turn something drab into something special. Although this time I chose an arrow, it's a super good idea to use initials on some napkins and a tablecloth as a wedding present, isn't it?

1 media de nylon / nylon tight

plumón / sharpie

cola fría para madera o pegamento líquido de secado duro / mod podge or any liquid glue that dries hard

pintura de género / fabric paint

1.- Ajustamos un pedazo de media bien tirante en el bastidor. Copiamos con el plumón la figura que hayamos elegido, damos vuelta el bastidor y pintamos con pegamento todo lo que no queremos que pase pintura para el otro lado y lo dejamos secar toda la noche. / Adjust tightly a piece of tight into the embroidery hoop. Transfer with a sharpie the shape you're using, turn the hoop and paint with mod podge everything you don't want to be passing paint. Let it dry through the night.

2.- Pongan el bastidor seco donde quieran el diseño, échenle un poco de pintura de género (más bien espesa) y la esparcen con un pincel o con una espátula de goma sobre la figura, sin moverlo. Saquen el molde con cuidado y voilà! Puede haber algunos errores, los corrigen con un pincel fino. Lo principal es esperar a que se seque bien el bastidor...o eso fue lo que aprendí haciendo la prueba. / Put your dry frame where you want to use it, pour some fabric paint (a kind of thick one) and pass it through the design with a brush or a plastic spatula, without moving it. Then take up the frame carefully and voilà! Thera might be some mistakes, you can mend them with a thin brush. A very important thing is that the podge is very dry...that was one of the things I learned during the process.
