Es un hecho de la causa que los aparatos portátiles se tomaron nuestro tiempo libre. Los teléfonos inteligentes nos tienen colgados a tal punto que debiéramos tener un canasto donde echarlos en la casa para que nos veamos bien las caras. Esos diez minutos que antes ocupábamos leyendo, ahora los pasamos con el teléfono o con una tablet. Si ya estamos tan digitales, el paso más normal es empezar a rendirse a los libros electrónicos. Los e-readers están a precios cada vez más accesibles y con mejor conectividad, los archivos de libros están también cada día más baratos y en mas idiomas, incluso hay muchísimos gratis. Además los computadores cuentan con softwares para leerlos también. Podemos leer esos libros que quizás no habríamos comprado y también tener nuestros preferidos siempre a mano. Nuestra cuenta recuerda lo que hemos comprado y lo podemos bajar de nuevo si queremos.

   It is a fact of the case that portable devices took our free time. Smart phones have hung us to the point that we should have a basket to throw them in at home so that we could take a good look at our faces during the day. On those ten minutes we used to read before , now we go through the phone or a tablet. If we're so digital, a normal step is to surrender to eBooks. The e-readers are becoming more affordable and with better connectivity, book files are also increasingly cheap and in most languages​​, there are even many free ones. Besides, our computers have software to read them too. We can read these books that we might not have bought and also have our favorites on hand. Our accounts remember what we bought and we can download then again if we need to.

   Para los niños, el formato digital es absolutamente natural. Se han familiarizado con él en la casa, en el colegio y, ahora que lo pueden manejar con los dedos directamente, es intuitivo y lógico para ellos leer un libro en la pantalla, que incluso se mueva o cuyos personajes los inviten a participar. 

   For kids, digital format is absolutely natural. They are familiar with it at home, at school and now that they can handle it with their fingers directly, it's intuitive and logical for them to read a book on the screen, even those whose characters move or invite them to participate.

   Personalmente, encuentro que no hay nada como el olor a libro, a páginas impresas y enseñar el gusto por la lectura y el desarrollo de la propia imaginación a través de un libro de tapas duras, ojalá antiguo. Pero claramente es una cuestión de pocos años que el tamaño de nuestras pilas de libros se disminuya a su mínima expresión, si pensamos además que el nivel de conectividad de nuestros colegios y escuelas es de 84% y todos esos niños pueden tener ahora en el colegio miles de libros a un click.

   Personally, I find that there is nothing like the smell of books, of ink printed pages and to teach the love for reading and the development of imagination through a hardcover book, hopefully old. But clearly is a matter of a few years that the size of our stacks of books is decreased to a minimum, if we think also that the level of connectivity at our schools is 84% and all these children may have now thousands of books at a click.

   Algo que se deriva y que es interesante de pensar es qué va a pasar con esa herencia de conocimiento que puede ser una biblioteca. Esos libros digitales son archivos personales, que se van con la persona que los tenía, ya no van a estar los libros del abuelo!

   Something that comes from this and it's interesting to think about is what will happen with this heritage of knowledge that a library can be. These digital books are personal files, that are going with the person who had them, so we won't have the grandfather's books!
