Mucho que hacer este fin de semana? Por acá hay mucho que envolver, más bien. Y harto que cocinar también. Pero ésa es la parte entretenida para mí, hasta está la adrenalina de hacer cosas especiales sin que nos descubran, a horas insólitas, jaja!    Too much to do this weekend? Lots to wrap over here. And much to cook too. But that's the fun part for me, even the adrenaline of doing special things without being discovered, sometime at the most unusual hours, haha​​!    Puede que ya hayan empezado, pero son los días de galletas! Me encanta probar nuevas recetas, este año hice las de jengibre de Rachel de Elephantine y están exquisitas. Cambié la melaza por miel de palma y funcionó perfecto, son doradas, crocantes y como de caramelo. Si buscan una receta tradicional, la nuestra es muy rica y está acá. Y ahora voy por éstas: galletas de brownie...nada mal... Pueden ver la receta haciendo click en la foto.

   You may have already begun, but these are cookie days! I love trying new recipes, this year I made gingerbread ones from Rachel of Elephantine and they are delicious. I changed molasses for palm syrup and it worked perfect, they are golden, crispy and caramel like. If you are looking for a traditional recipe, ours is so nice! and you can find it here.    Después de hacerlas, viene decorarlas y mucha gente no sabe lo fácil que es hacer el glaseado. Hay dos formas de lograrlo, las dos son blancas y para darles color hay que ponerles colorante de comida de a una gota, para que los colores no queden tan intensos. La primera es azúcar flor o impalpable con gotas de jugo de limón, las vamos agregando hasta que logremos la consistencia que queremos, es fresco y rico. La segunda es una clara de huevo un poco batida, hasta que tenga las primeras burbujas, le vamos agregando azúcar flor hasta que logremos la consistencia que queremos. Ésta forma es la que se seca bien dura. Cuando tengamos nuestra mezcla, la ponemos en una manga, una botella con boquilla o simplemente en una bolsa plástica con cierre y le cortamos un poquito una puntita de abajo.

   After making them, comes decorating and many people don't know how easy it is to make the frosting. There are two basic ways of making it, both are white and to give them color, you have to add food coloring one drop at a time, so that the colors doesn't get so intense. The first one is powdered sugar with drops of lemon juice, adding them until we achieve the consistency we want, it's fresh and nice. The second one is an egg white slightly beaten, until you have the first bubbles, then add powdered sugar until you get the consistency you want. This is the one that dries hard. When we have our mix, put it in a bakers sleeve, a bottle with tip or simply in a plastic zip bag and cut a little tip off from below.

    A los niños les encanta el proceso de las galletas, pero siempre hay uno que no aguanta todo el tiempo. ¿Con qué lo podemos entretener? Este pesebre está perfecto! Se imprime en una hoja, para que lo pinten, lo recorten, jueguen y le busquen una cajita. Hagan click y van a verlo.

   Les quería dar una ideal: ya deben tener todo lo que necesitan para regalar a su familia, pero qué tal si pensamos algo que sea un regalo para todos además, algo que nos haga pasar felices tiempo juntos. Y eso lo envolvemos y lo ponemos junto con lo demás como una sorpresa.  Puede ser un juego de mesa, entradas al zoológico, un paseo al parque con picnic, una visita al museo, una noche de películas con cabritas y todo....les tinca? Yo ya sé cuál va a ser el mío!

   I wanted to give you an idea: You sure already have everything you need to give to your family, but how about if we think of something as a gift for us all,  something that will make us spend fun time together. And wrap it and put it along with the rest as a surprise. It can be a board game, tickets to the zoo, a walk to the park with picnic, a visit to the museum, a movie night with pop corn and all .... what do you think? I already know what mine will be!

   Terminemos el día de hoy con otro poco de música para que quede resonando toda la semana, el villancico más lindo de todos, cantado por un coro muy diverso y con emoción en los ojos. Ése que sólo Handel supo hacer: Aleluya  (Él reinará por siempre). Enjoy.
